Google Chrome 64 for Android: new popup blocker and audio exclusion from sites

As explained, chrome 64 on android brings some nice changes to the popular web browser. As noted Google inside his press release, “etcThis new version prevents certain sites from opening new windows or new tabs without your permission.” You’ll understand: the limitation of pop-up ads, which abound on the web, is emphasized above all.

This is the main advantage of this new version. Google Chrome can now block pop-ups, but also prevent malicious redirects that are not required by the user. Every window blocked by Google Chrome will appear in a small notification in the info bar at the bottom of your interface. You can see a preview of this in the screenshot below. With this update, Google wants to put an end to intrusive ad windows like “You’ve won an iPhone”.

Another good news: It is also possible to mute a particular website. We all know this: some sites automatically enable videos to be played in the background. To bypass autoplay, you need to go to: “Settings” later on “Site settings“. You will discover a new menu “Her”. Once in this menu, you will be able to remove certain sites from the list. Addresses you control can no longer stream an audio track.

As a reminder, chrome 64 currently deployed on Google Play store. It may take a few days or even weeks for this new version to be available to all users. Google Chrome 64 will also be available on MacOS, Windows and Linux soon. So, what do you think of these new options?
