Then they cover the entire fully molded TPU cover with a hard polycarbonate shell and bumper for added durability. This is what makes it a “solid case”. They upgraded the bezel in all cutouts and ports to make it extra strong while keeping the case thin, light and affordable. Get one in several different colors.

2. Samsung Rugged Protective Case

Another great option is to get a durable and sturdy case from Samsung themselves as they know how to keep their phones safe. One of our favorites from the last two years is the Samsung Rugged Protective Cover. It’s built like a warehouse, looks like a sturdy suitcase, but has a flat stand that folds up for hands-free movies or YouTube watching.

Samsung ensures that this case meets military-grade drop tests up to 10ft high. And yes, it’s inside the phone. It is made of hard plastic on the outside and shock absorbing material on the inside. You’ll notice that the raised edges around the camera and screen, the tactile buttons, and the kickstand have two viewing angles to choose from. A strong case that comes in Silver or Blue. Unfortunately, they don’t have blacks this year.

3. Incipio DualPro

The Incipio DualPro was one of the first cases to combine both soft TPU materials with a hard and durable exterior for all-round durability. The approach was simple. They wanted a safe that was as durable as those old-fashioned Otterbox crates, without all the volume. Almost everyone now uses some kind of “double layer” design to keep cases sturdy but not too bulky.

Personally, the Otterbox Commuter series is the best middle ground case they’ve ever had. It’s not as thick as some of its casings, but it will more than get the job done. Plus, it’s tougher and more durable than anything under $20 on Amazon.

The Commuter series has two rigid layers that absorb shocks or divert them away from the screen. Even the angles at the rear are designed to direct impacts outward rather than inward. They’ve also added reinforced corners and textured non-slip gripping edges to the case, providing a great experience in a case you can still fit in your pocket. Well, most pockets, but maybe not your skinny jeans.

6. ArmadilloTek Vanguard Military Technology

This next case is very similar to the SUPCASE Unicorn as it covers the entire Galaxy S10 from front to back. If I’ve seen one, it’s a solid case. Additionally, ArmadilloTek has added a honeycomb texture to the interior of the TPU bezel to diffuse any damage to the entire case instead of the screen. The entire back is also a hard polycarbonate shell.

Not only is this a double layer full cover case, they also added a third layer on the four corners to make it extra durable. Then there are the small wings on the bottom that cover the ports, the oversized tactile buttons and a textured surface on the back so you never drop this slippery phone. Oh, and it comes with a kickstand or a holster if you need it.
