Do you know Bigfoot? Experts find explanation for ancient legend

You may have heard of the legend of Bigfootisn’t it? Although it’s not as popular here in Brazil, the story has a great impact, especially because it’s very present in pop culture, with films and representations in cartoons.

What is most curious is that legends are probably part of stories that actually happened. However, they have never been able to prove that Bigfoot existed. Until now!

This is because the story may have gained a scientific basis that explains how this famous legend arose in the United States and Canada. Of course, let’s be clear, this does not prove the existence of the creature, but it may provide some explanations that make sense to those who know the legend.

After all, what is Bigfoot?

According to studies by scientist Floe Foxon, the gigantic footprints that were found many years ago and that people believed to be Bigfoot have another explanation. This is because instead of being the mysterious creature, these footprints could be those of black bears.

Legend has it that Bigfoot was a strange, very large figure (as its name suggests), with huge footprints, which could have been a primate. However, that is not what Foxon’s study reveals to society.

The expert analyzed alleged Bigfoot sightings in the mid-20th century and cross-referenced them with information about places where the creature may have appeared. In this way, he also obtained information about where black bear sightings may have also occurred.

These animals can be over two meters long when fully grown and weigh around 280 kilos. Another interesting point is that mammals can stand on two legs to have a wider view of the place they are in. In other words, a good explanation for what Bigfoot would be.

Floe Foxon’s study even explains why Bigfoot hasn’t been seen in places like Texas and Florida: Simply because black bears in those locations are extremely rare.
