The spaces in homes and, especially, apartments are becoming increasingly smaller. Therefore, thinking about which tools and utensils are worth having at home has become a dilemma. With this in mind, entrepreneurs Lino Reuters and Fabio Ginzel created a business that rents household utensils in condominiums in São Paulo.
The resource is a Box 24X7 application, with which residents can borrow the appliance or tool they need, for as long as necessary.
Therefore, it is no longer necessary for each condominium owner to have an exclusive item, after all, it is possible to temporarily take the one that meets your demand without taking up the “already so small” space in your apartment.
The price of renting household appliances varies between R$4 and R$10 per hour, which is advantageous for both the company and the user.
In total, Reuters and Ginzel invested R$450,000 in developing this initiative. Each year, they receive up to four times the amount paid for the equipment.
How does the household appliance rental app work?
Did you find the proposal interesting? The idea behind Box 24×7 is to make the locker for renting household items available in several condominiums in Brazil. But how does the app work? With the app installed on the cell phone, the resident just needs to read the locker’s QR Code to open the door of the selected item.
Since the amount is charged based on the rental period, users have the autonomy to use the equipment for as long as necessary. When the equipment is returned, the countdown ends and the amount is charged using the payment method selected in the app.
The Box 24×7 app is available for iOS and Android devices.
Sustainability and sharing
The intention of the creators of Box 24×7 with the rental of household items is to create a sustainable and economical way of sharing resources.
Furthermore, the initiative promotes the circular economy, which aims to make smarter use of manufacturing processes and resources, prioritizing recyclable and community dynamics. One of the values is precisely to consider that the equipment will be used by other people, so taking care to ensure that it returns to the closet in good condition is part of the sharing policy.
