In 1986, the Japanese animation “Dragon Ball” debuted on the small screen, and a few years later it became one of the biggest phenomena in the world of anime.
Throughout the 291 episodes, it is possible to follow the trajectories, as well as the difficulties experienced by the characters Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, among others.
Given these exciting stories, Akira Toriryama’s work marked a generation and continues to be present in the lives of many fans.
In that sense, have you ever imagined a live-action “Dragon Ball”? Or have you ever wondered what the characters would look like in real life? Recently, an anime fan and Reddit user known as @mortecouille92 had this idea.
In a very creative way, the fan used an Artificial Intelligence (AI) service to develop a representation of Goku and his companions as real people.
On his Reddit account, the user shared the results, which were truly surprising. Check them out below:
If Dragon Ball Z characters were real

Using artificial intelligence Midjourney, @mortecouille92 recreated several characters from “Dragon Ball”, including the protagonist GokuChichi, Master Roshi, Krillin, Yancha, Tenshinhan, Piccolo, Gohan, Bulma, Vegeta, Trunks, Android 16, Android 17 and Android 18, as well as the Saiyan versions of the main warriors.
In this sense, the AI service Midjourney creates images from textual descriptions, and the results impress anyone. The details of each character correspond to their original versions.
Fans question appearance
However, many people on Reddit have questioned Goku’s appearance, as well as that of most of the characters. They have stated that Goku should actually be depicted as Japanese.
However, @mortecouille92 stated that he did not think about a nationality when creating the character, but rather that they had features similar to the anime. To create the real version of Goku, the user was inspired by a Brazilian soccer player, Kaká.
