For those who are not familiar with the subject, global warming is caused by the increase in the Greenhouse Effect on our planet. This effect in itself is important for life on Earth, as it is through it that solar radiation remains “trapped” in our atmosphere for longer, thus warming the planet.

However, due to the increase in greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide (CO2), radiation has been staying on the planet for too long before returning to space. As a result, there has been an increase in the planet’s average temperatures, causing changes in all global ecosystems.

How to solve the problem of global warming?

Preventing the increase in the planet’s average temperature is not easy, but it is not impossible. The main factor that increases the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is the use of fossil fuels. Examples of these are: gasoline, oil, natural gas and coal.

Therefore, in order to prevent global warming from increasing even further, it is necessary to replace the fuels that are used around the world. But what are the alternatives for this? Surprisingly, humanity has several alternatives to abandon fossil fuels.

The main fuels are those based on electrical energy, biofuels and synthetic fuels. Basically, there is not much to say about electric energy fuels, after all, they are the favorites to replace fossil fuels.

Logically, we are talking here about clean energy, that which is generated through wind farms, solar panels or hydroelectric plants.

Other examples are less well-known, but equally viable and harmless. This is because biofuels, as their name suggests, are made from organic or biodegradable products. One example is ethanol made from sugarcane, which is widely produced in Brazil.

As for synthetic fuels, these are basically gasoline, kerosene and diesel, but they are produced artificially. In other words, they are not derived from petroleum, which needs to be extracted from the Earth and generates a lot of CO2. They are produced through chemical reactions and, because they are made in a laboratory, they do not produce any carbon dioxide.
