Drawing on route made by cyclists enters the book of records; see the image on the map!

There are different forms of artistic expression, such as paintings, sculptures, among others. But some cyclists entered the Guinness Book of World Records with a very different artistic language. This is because the French athletes covered more than a thousand kilometers in 43 hours and created a drawing on the Strava app.

Cyclists and a new Guinness record

Not everyone can immortalize their name in the Guinness Book of World Records. However, even though it is a difficult task that requires specific skills in a certain subject, some French people have managed to do so!

Maxime Brugère, Florent Arnaud, Franck Delorme and Nicolas Meunier, cyclists with a few years of experience, designed a route between Cher and Allier, in France. This way, after the kilometers they would cover, it would be possible to identify the image of a dinosaur from a long distance, via satellite. Check out how it turned out:

To create the art known as “Strava Art”, they cycled approximately 1,025 km, lasting approximately two days of cycling. This process took place between the end of October and the beginning of November last year.

All planning took place using satellite navigation software and aimed to draw the world’s attention to the importance of taking care of the planet’s natural resources.

Furthermore, an interesting fact that the athletes thought of was the choice of the dinosaur that would be drawn. They opted for a velociraptor, since, in French, “vélo” means “bicycle”.

Dinosaurs represent the finiteness of a species and what can be expected from an unstable planet. They also highlight how vulnerable beings are to these changes. Human attitudes have contributed to the advancement of societies, but at the cost of the extinction of animals and plants, in addition to changes in the Earth’s temperature.

The group of cyclists created a drawing in an unusual way and managed to get their names in the Guinness Book of Records. For those who are curious to know where the drawing is saved, it is on the Strava platform, an application that athletes often use to obtain data on their physical activities.
