DANGER! Research indicates that heat waves THREAT some countries

One of the biggest problems facing humanity today is climate change, caused mainly by global warming. As everyone knows, global warming has been a topic of discussion in almost every country in the world recently, due to the great damage it is causing to the planet.

However, not everyone is aware of what global warming causes on the planet or how it happens. Therefore, in short, global warming is caused by several factors, which together form it. However, the main problem is related to the increase in greenhouse gases.

This effect is something natural on planet Earth and, in moderation, is very important for the existence of life. However, on the scale it currently exists, the greenhouse effect ends up keeping the sun’s rays “trapped” in the planet’s atmosphere for a long time. This results in a large increase in the planet’s average temperature.

This average temperature is calculated by taking the lowest and highest temperatures. In other words, if there is an increase in the average temperature, then the lowest temperatures are getting hotter and hotter, while the highest temperatures are becoming literally unbearable.

Research investigates heat wave that puts countries at risk

Logically, the dangers of increasing the planet’s average temperature are enormous. As such, it affects not only the quality of human life, but also puts countless ecosystems at risk. Therefore, many scientists around the world dedicate their time to studying these phenomena in more detail.

One of the most recent studies published by the journal Nature, last Tuesday (25), brought an unfortunate revelation. The study was carried out at the University of Bristol, in England, and its main author is Doctor in Climatology Vikki Thompson.

In her study, we see what she characterizes as “periods of return of rare events.” In other words, the rare events – not so rare anymore – are extreme heat waves.

Therefore, in their research, it is possible to identify points on the globe that have not yet been affected by unusual heat waves. But that, according to the study, have a high chance of being affected by new waves of excess heat.

It is clear that many of the countries most likely to be affected are economically more vulnerable. Or those that, due to their high latitude, are not properly prepared for extreme heat waves. Below you can see a map made by the authors of the study that shows the points with the greatest risks.
