Aging is not an activity that people generally enjoy, and most people would like to eliminate this function of the body. However, news has recently been released to the world: scientists have discovered a way to slow down the aging process.
There are several practices available on the market today for skin rejuvenation, but not all of them are completely effective. However, the University of California has managed to find some very valuable information, which is not only capable of rejuvenating, but also of preventing aging from happening quickly.
Furthermore, the data released showed that the technique is capable of providing 82% efficacy to humans. All of this was carried out with a study based on yeast, that is, unicellular fungi.

How can fungi help us?
According to researchers from the project led by the University of California, San Diego, yeast undergoes two types of aging. One is based on the decline of mitochondria, while the second process is due to DNA, the area of the fungus that carries all genetic information.
With these factors in mind, the researchers decided to test the hypothesis that it would be possible to slow down the aging process of yeast. After much work, they finally concluded that this was possible.
As it was successful in yeast, they realized that it could work in humans, since there are gene regulatory circuits, which play a role in the aging of the human body.
As mentioned by the professionals working on this project, they realized that by modifying cells, it would be possible to control the undesirable process of aging.
So, when such modifications are put into practice, the cells responsible for carrying out the circuit cause a gene alteration to occur, leading the cells in question to perform two states that will be capable of providing a prolonged process, in order to generate a delay in the degeneration of the cell.
Ultimately, if this project is successful, people could take even longer to reach old age.
