Aliens visiting? Scientists show how 5G could tell us where we are on Earth

Technological evolution has led us to reflect on the consequences that this advancement can bring. We see that new cell phones with innovative technologies are launched every year and at an increasingly rapid pace.

Some scientists are even concerned about the possibility, still remote, of us being able to reach advanced civilizations on other planets through these technologies.

For many, the extraterrestrial contact It may be seen as a unique achievement, but for others it is something worrying and could end up causing a catastrophic encounter between species.

The point is that there is something very common, present in new generation smartphones and computers, that can indicate our exact location in the universe: 5G network.

How can 5G attract aliens?

A research published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society discusses the emission of radio waves from Earth as seen from different nearby star systems. These waves, in theory, could be picked up and interpreted by alien civilizations.

Researcher Ramiro C. Saide and co-authors of the study state:

“To our knowledge, no previous research has investigated the cumulative effect of mobile tower emissions and the implication for espionage and SETI in general.

Our study provides some insight into what we might expect if there were such a civilization located elsewhere in the Milky Way with similar or even more advanced levels of radio telescope technology.”

The authors are concerned about the constant and accelerated growth of mobile network technologies, drawing attention to the leakage of radio waves with terrestrial signature, which can provide diverse information about life on the planet.

“Detection by another civilization of individual narrowband TV and/or radio transmissions could be used to infer properties of our planet, such as details of its rotation rate and orbital motion, information about the planet’s ionosphere and troposphere, the global distribution of transmitters, and possibly some cultural aspects of our civilization.”

Why contact with more advanced civilizations can be worrying?

In Physics, there is much discussion about the possibility of civilizations more advanced than ours encountering us. This event, although incredible to imagine, could result in varied and uncertain consequences, among them the exploitation of the human race for the benefit of the more advanced species.

But there is nothing to worry about. According to the results of the study, no civilization located within 10 light years of the planet and capable of capturing radio waves would detect the leakage of waves from Earth’s mobile tower.
