The advancement of technology and its relationship with consumerism are increasingly present in our lives. The constant launch of new cell phones with few differences between them, but which promise a better user experience, can prove exactly that.
Many people are looking to upgrade and buy the latest smartphones. However, the latest items on the market may not always be the best on offer.
This is what has been happening with Apple’s new release, the iPhone 14. The brand’s new smartphone was launched at the end of last year and, although it may have brought some new features, it was not enough to surpass its previous version by much, much less to justify its price of more than R$7,000.
With this in mind, and considering how it is better for buyers not to choose this cell phone, we have put together a list of five reasons why you should not buy Apple’s new smartphone. Check it out below.
5 reasons not to buy the iPhone 14

1. Processor same as before
The A15 Bionic chipset, hexacore, that is, with six cores, was already present in the brand’s previous model, the iPhone 13. This occurred for the first time since the launch of the iPhone 3G.
There is still a cheaper version, the iPhone SE 2022, which has the same configuration. However, this lack of innovation may lead to consumers losing interest and looking for better phones at a similar price.
2. The camera is also the same
Not even the smartphone’s camera is different from its previous version. The device has two 12MP cameras. Even though Apple’s investment is not in megapixels like Android, but rather in lenses and other features, the configuration has remained the same for years.
Premium versions of the cell phone even have a resolution of 48 Mp, but prices can be even higher, discouraging buyers.
3. General settings
When comparing the specifications of the iPhone 13 and its new version, it is clear that there are many similarities between the information on the devices. The screen, for example, has the same settings, the resolution is the same and even the 60Hz FPS is the same. The update to 120Hz is only present in the Pro and Pro Max versions.
Furthermore, the 4K video resolution, although one of the best on the market, is still the same as its predecessor and can be purchased for a much lower price. Furthermore, the battery, which is one of the biggest problems with Apple phones, continues to have the same Ampere rating.
4. Same look
In general, new smartphones have distinct looks, which differentiate each model and bring an advanced design. But this is not the case with the iPhone 14. The screen has the same dimensions as the iPhone 13, at 6.1” inches, and the distribution of cameras is also the same.
5. Price skyrocketing
This phone may not attract the attention of more humble buyers. As usual, the brand has great value, but with the presented configurations, it is not worth spending around R$7 thousand on a device that has the same features as one that can be found for half the price.
Furthermore, other brands still have models with even superior features and at very similar prices.
Bonus: wait for the next release
For fans of the brand who intend to purchase the iPhone 14, we recommend waiting until the launch of the next version, the iPhone 15, which will be available later this year. This is because the innovations in the next model could be much more significant than those presented by this current device.
