There is currently a lot of discussion about the use of artificial intelligence in the film industry. A notable example is the inclusion of the late Paul Walker in the film “Fast and Furious.”

This decision has sparked the interest of many people who wish they could continue to exist even after death. However, is it really possible?

The use of technologies to create deepfakes has generated discussion and contributed to the manifestation of various fake news. However, could this save Hollywood from a dark future after the death of extremely important artists in cinema?

According to the perspective shared by Tom Hanks during an interview on The Adam Buxton Podcast, he would certainly be willing to try and implement such an experiment.

While talking about this possibility, Hanks reminisced with the audience about what it was like when he first came into contact with advanced technology. At the time, the actor was producing “The Polar Express,” a Christmas movie that was released in 2004.

Read an excerpt mentioned by Tom Hanks during the interview:

“We saw it coming, we saw that there would be this ability to turn zeros and ones from inside a computer into a face and a character. It’s just grown exponentially since then, and now we see it everywhere.”he comments.

However, his thinking goes much further than just appearing in film productions, but also making him look young again, at 32 years old.

“Now, anyone can recreate themselves at any age through AI or deepfake technology. I could get hit by a bus tomorrow and that’s it, but the performances can go on and on and on.”he adds.

Not everyone has the same vision as Tom Hanks

Even though Tom Hanks has this vision and an open mind, he is aware that not all the other actors will agree with this position. He ended the interview by saying that it will be a great artistic challenge until everyone understands.

Tom Hanks will be part of a new project, which will be directed by Robert Zemeckis, who will be alongside Robin Wright, in which there will be a need to use AI to modify his face.
