Aware of these issues, Anatel and the National Cinema Agency (Ancine) are joining forces to gradually end the use of these illegal practices.

Both recognize the importance of protecting copyright and stimulating the legal audiovisual industry, which contributes to the country’s economy and cultural development.

Now, to intensify efforts to combat illegalities, Anatel and Ancine are establishing a large laboratory for joint actions. This laboratory will be a research and development center focused on identifying, monitoring and gradually combating violations related to illegal IPTVs.

The main objective of this laboratory is to strengthen inspection actions and the application of punitive measures. In addition, it aims to improve user awareness and education strategies.

Through partnerships with experts and agents in the audiovisual industry, technologies and methodologies will be developed to identify and track illegal service providers, as well as to provide more accurate and up-to-date information on illegal practices. streaming.

The goal

The goal is not to eliminate illegal streaming immediately. According to Moisés Moreira, Anatel advisor, the goal is to reduce the incidence of this type of piracy. He stated:

“We are not going to end piracy, but we are going to reduce it. Users who consume this service are discouraged.”

By making piracy less attractive and more difficult, Anatel hopes to discourage users from opting for illegal streaming.
