That’s right! The model is officially certified to flya milestone that represents the first time a vehicle of this type has received the green light in the US.

Now, before we get too excited, let’s understand what this certification actually means. It turns out that the FAA is actively working to establish the rules of the game for electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicles, just like Alef’s flying car.

As such, the Special Airworthiness Certificate does place some limits on where and what the company’s flying cars can hover. But rest assured: we’re still talking about a car that can fly. It’s definitely a step in the right direction!
