The main purpose of ConnectedRide is to improve the riding experience on the roads, through the use of Head-Up Display (HUD) technology. With this feature, the device provides real-time information to the motorcyclist, such as speed, data on the gear used and navigation.
This way, pilots do not need to take their eyes off the road and can maintain full focus on the road. BMW claims this approach not only makes the journey more immersive, but also safer. To do this, the glasses depend on a Bluetooth connection with the cell phone, through a dedicated application.
With the app, you can customize the way information is displayed on the ConnectedRide display. These settings can be adjusted before or even during the trip, thanks to a multicontroller positioned on the motorcycle’s handlebars.
The manufacturer guarantees that the glasses come with two lens options, both certified against UVA/UVB rays, one of which is 85% transparent. This allows the user to change according to needs or lighting conditions when traveling by motorcycle. As for the suggested price, the device is available for 690 euros (around R$3,685).
