Galaxy Note 7 vs Moto Z: What We Know So Far

The all-new Moto Z and Moto Z Force DROID hit the shelves, and with Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 7 set to be announced on August 2, buyers have to make a tough decision. With that in mind, we will compare the Moto Z vs Galaxy Note 7 here to help buyers make the right choice and get the best one for themselves.

At this point, we know almost everything about the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 thanks to a series of leaks, and the Moto Z went on pre-order last week when the device hits shelves on July 28. One has a large 5.5-inch display and lots of customizable modes, while the other has a larger 5.7-inch curved screen and stylus. There’s a little something for everyone here.

Buyers have the option to wait for the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, a new HTC 10, LG G5, the new iPhone, or pick up one of two phones to be released in the near future. These are the Moto Z and Galaxy Note 7. Now that we know the Galaxy Note 7 will be announced on August 2, here’s what you need to know before you buy one or the other.

This year the Moto X has been replaced by the Moto Z and is completely different from all previous years. Motorola is going with an all-metal design, an improved camera, and a modular design that allows for tons of customization. Different textured and colored backs, speakers, portable protectors and more. It will officially be available exclusively to Verizon on July 28, and the regular unlocked Moto Z will go on sale in the near future. That’s what we’ll be comparing below, as the regular model will be available to everyone, as opposed to the Moto Z Force DROID being exclusive to Verizon.

At the same time, the Galaxy Note 7 is something everyone should know. That’s because it should look almost identical to the Galaxy Note 5 from 2015, but with most of the changes we saw on the Galaxy S7 Edge in March. It’s basically the combination of the two coming together to be a massive 5.7-inch curved flagship smartphone.

Both of these phones are pretty big and have a lot to offer along with a few unique extras that most other phones on the market don’t. This is what makes them both attractive choices and devices that users consider. Everything below has been confirmed since the Moto Z is official, the Galaxy Note 7 launch date isn’t until August 2nd. That means most of the information comes from leaks and rumors, but it’s pretty safe to assume that most of the details are accurate if not close.

So, while the information in our slideshow below isn’t 100% accurate on the Note 7 side, it will give buyers a great idea to help them decide on their next smartphone purchase.
