“I went into this with a little too much confidence” – Michael Bisping breaks down Khamzat Chimaev’s approach to Gilbert Burns at UFC 273

Khamzat Chimaev fought Gilbert Burns at UFC 273 and was a big favorite coming into that fight. Before this fight, Khamzat was 11th and Burns was 2nd. Burns brought the fight to Khamzat and there were moments when he nearly stopped Chimaev.

Khamzat took a piece of advice from his column and took a more calculated approach to war, stuck to his game plan, and did enough for a unanimous decision to turn out better. After this fight, many criticized Khamzat and thought that the train of excitement was over, saying that Burns almost defeated Khamzat and was not ready to face the elite of the division.

UFC president Dana White says he’s very pleased with his performance, doing a great job against Khamzat’s first real fight and actually passing the test. Michael Bisping was watching the competition closely and made some significant gains from the fight.
