UFC heavyweight champion contender, BMF champion Jorge Masvidal was recently invited as a guest speaker for the governor of Florida Ron DeSantis’ Special fundraising event before re-election.
Jorge Masvidal isn’t at the best of his recent behavior as the fighter filed a battering suit against him after a fight with his fierce rival. Colby Covington. Despite the disgrace to his reputation, Florida governor Ron DeSantis believes it’s forgivable and invites the warrior to be a guest speaker at a special fundraising event held at The Wharf in Miami. Both praised each other a lot.
Masvidal, who came to the event with a BMF belt, presented it to the governor. Jorge believed DeSantis deserved the BMF generation for keeping Florida “Free” amid the pandemic. DeSantis was also seen, “Are you not satisfied with living in the freest state in the entire United States?” to the crowd supporting him on stage alongside Masvidal.
This isn’t the first time Masvidal has helped his hand in politics. In 2020, Donald Trump also bought Jorge to help him in the election. Senator Manny Diaz also called the UFC fighter a “Liberty Fighter” by defending his attack on Colby Covington.

Jorge Masvidal urges Florida citizens to vote for Ron DeSantis
“This guy [Gover DeSantis] He fights for you, he fights for me, he fights for my children, he fights for my freedom.” In his speech as a guest, Masvidal said: “We have to show this election stronger than ever. We must come more than ever before. We are doing something here. We are on the way to something bigger.”
Masvidal lost to Colby Covington. UFC 272. The post fight turned ugly for Jorge as Jorge ambushed Covington at a steakhouse in Miami, Florida, and also broke Colby’s tooth with his attack. Masvidal was released on bail for battery charges. Covington filed charges against his former friend from the American Top Team for the assault.
