Times are changing. Today, the ability to express your emotions is not limited to words or emojis. Companies like WhatsApp, Telegram, Snapchat, and Apple offer fun ways to keep in touch with friends and family. You can use stickers, gifs, create your avatar using Memoji and Bitmoji. Facebook is also getting on the train with the launch of Avatar. The world’s largest social network is launching its version of Bitmoji and Memoji called Avatar.
Facebook’s release of Avatar is a big deal, as it directly affects over a billion users. You can create an avatar on Facebook and use it anywhere in the app. Users can use Avatars when commenting on posts, set it as their profile picture, and make Messenger chat windows. Apart from that, users will also be able to export these avatars to third-party apps such as Snapchat, Twitter, and Instagram.
In this post, we’ll talk about what customization options Facebook offers for creating Avatars, how to create one, and how to use it in Facebook comments, Messenger, and more.
Where is Avatar on Facebook?
Facebook has started rolling out Avatars worldwide. You will find the option in the Facebook menu.
When you try to comment on a Facebook post or message a friend on Messenger, try using the emoji menu; You will see that the service prompts you to create a new Avatar for yourself.
Create Your Avatar
Facebook offers a number of customization options to make the Avatar of your choice, just like Bitmoji and Animoji. Follow the steps below to create your Avatar on Facebook.
Stage 1: Open the Facebook app on your iPhone or Android device.
Step 2: On iPhone, go to the Facebook menu in the lower right corner. If you are using Facebook on Android, the option will be in the upper right corner.
Stage 3: Select Avatars.

Step 4: Choose your skin tone. Facebook offers more than 30 skin tones. Choose the one that best fits your avatar idea. Press Next at the bottom.

Step 5: Now it’s time to add more items to your Avatar. First, you need to add Hairstyle. I like that Facebook offers filters like Short, Medium, and Long hair to quickly find the hairstyle you’re looking for. You can also change hair colors.

Step 6: Navigate through the customization options using the menu bar above. The next option is Face shape. Choose the one you find suitable.

Step 7: Add Skin and Lines to your face.
Step 8: The next option is about Eyes, Eyebrows and Eyewear. You can choose from dozens of eye shapes, colors and makeup.

Step 9: The following menu allows you to customize the nose, lips, and facial hair by color. You’d be surprised at the options available for facial hair.

Step 10: Now choose your body share, outfit, Hat and Earring. After that, you’re good to go.

Step 11: You can return to the menu at any time and change any details. Once done, hit the Done button in the upper right corner.
Give it a few seconds and hit the Next button.

Avatar is now available for use on Facebook. Tap on the stickers menu above and see ready-to-use stickers based on your Avatar.
Where Can You Use Facebook Avatar?
Facebook has implemented Avatars well within the app. You can use them everywhere on Facebook, including status, profile picture, comments, and Messenger chat.
To use these Avatars in Post comments, tap the emoji icon and switch to the purple Avatar icon.
The method is the same in the Messenger app. Tap the emoji option during the chat and open your ready-to-use Avatars.

To share your avatar on Facebook feed, go to the Avatar menu and tap the share menu in the upper right corner. Facebook will let you choose from three available poses. Choose the one you like and tap the Share button below.

You can select ‘Set Avatar as temporary profile picture’ from the same share menu. Facebook will offer six poses to set as your profile picture. I appreciate the addition of a face mask considering the present times. You can also choose various background colors to match the profile picture. Unfortunately, there is no way to change the sharing settings from Public to Private.

How to Edit Avatar
Have you recently adopted a new hairstyle or started wearing glasses? You may want to edit the Facebook Avatar according to your new look.
