Users with the old form URL will see the new changes to the form.

How to Edit Google Form Responses in Spreadsheets

When a user submits the form, the form creator can make changes to their response in the spreadsheet. For this, open the answers or the Google Spreadsheet with the answers. You will find the page with the answers in your Google Drive. Edit them as needed.

Alternatively, open the form to edit as shown above for mobile and desktop. At the top you will find the Answers tab. Click or tap this. Here you will see a summary and individual responses. If you go to the individual section, you will find the answers. But you cannot edit them.

You need to click the Google Sheets icon at the top to open the linked spreadsheet with the answers. Double-click any value in the Google Spreadsheet to edit it.

How to Allow Users to Edit Form Responses After Submission?

How to Edit Google Form Response After Form Submission

As a user who submitted the form, you can change your responses after submitting. However, this is only possible if the form owner has allowed editing of the responses property as stated above.

Note: The owner of the form can see all edits or previous responses.

If reply editing is allowed, here are two ways to edit your answers.

Method 1: Use the Edit Response Link at the End of the Form

After submitting the form, you will see the Edit your reply link at the end of the Thank you page. Click this to edit your form. Your existing answers will automatically appear in the form. Type or select a different answer. New answers will instantly replace your existing ones.

Note: If the creator doesn’t allow replies to be edited, you won’t see the Edit your reply link. There is no easy way to edit such forms.

Method 2: Check History

If you closed the browser tab with the Edit your reply link, you should check your browser history. Click the URL containing the word edit. You will be redirected to the acknowledgment or form end page. Here you will see the Edit your answer link. Click this and edit your answers.

How Do I Know If Someone Has Edited Answers

When any user changes their response on the form, it will be reflected in your spreadsheet. You will see a small icon indicating that the user has modified the response once they have submitted it.

To see the changes, right-click the cell and select View edit history.
