Creating a Google Form is pretty easy. However, the essence of Google Forms lies in the answers. When you create a Google Form and share it with others, you should be waiting for responses. That’s when ‘How can I see who has responded to my Google Form?’ question comes to mind. Do not worry. Viewing Google Form responses is pretty easy. Here we will tell you 2 ways to see responses in Google Forms.
You don’t need to create or change anything in your existing form to view responses. However, a few precautions mentioned in the article need to be taken.
Lets start.
Note: This post will help the form creator/editor view the responses received. It’s not about students checking their answers on exam papers. However, to make things clear, we’ve covered it as well.
How to Find Answers in Google Forms Using Source Code
If you’re planning to cheat on your online assignment created using Google Forms, it’s not your lucky day.

You cannot see responses in Google Forms using the Inspect element or the HTML source code. It may have worked before, but Google fixed the bug.
Now that it’s clear you can’t cheat in Google Forms, let’s move on to our main topic, displaying responses in Google Forms.
Note: The steps of the methods below are the same on mobile and PC.
Method 1: View Responses in Google Forms
One of the easiest ways to view responses received on your Google Forms is from Google Forms itself.
Here’s how to go about it:
Stage 1: Open your Google Form from Google Drive.
Step 2: Click/tap the Replies tab at the top.

Stage 3: Here you will find three more tabs – Summary, Question, Individual.
The Summary tab, which opens by default, shows you a summary of the answers with the help of graphs and charts. This is very useful if you are doing a survey using Google Forms.

The Question tab shows responses from users for each question. You can navigate through the questions using the arrows or select the required question from the drop-down box.

The most useful tab is the last one, namely Individual. Here you will see all the replies from a contact. Use the arrow keys to change the user or select the user from the dropdown box.

Fly: Add a question asking for the user’s name or email ID, or enable Collect Email ID in Google Form to identify the user. Same steps as shown in tip 1 below.
Method 2: View Responses in Google Sheets
If you don’t like how the replies look using Method 1, there is a better way to view the replies. Basically, all responses submitted to your Google Form are also saved in a spreadsheet.
To view this spreadsheet, open the required Google Form from Google Drive. Click the Answers tab. At the top you will find a Google Sheets icon. Click on it.

A spreadsheet opens with the name of your form. Here you will find all the responses received for your form. Learn how to save Google Form responses to different Spreadsheets.

Pro Tip: Bookmark the link to this spreadsheet for quick access without opening your Google Form.
Tip 1: Find the Responder’s Name
Typically, if your form doesn’t have a question to fill in the name or email ID, you won’t be able to identify the person completing the form. So you have two options. First, add a question asking users to enter their name and email ID.
Alternatively, enable Collect email id in Google Forms settings. For this, open the required form as a builder or editor. Click the Settings icon at the top.

A popup window will open. Under the General tab, enable the box next to ‘Collect email addresses’. Google will now add a mandatory question to your form asking respondents to fill in their email ID.

Note: For existing forms you’ve already shared with users, you can’t do much without using the two options. If it’s been shared with fewer people yet, re-share it by enabling one of the two options above.
Tip 2: Get Email Notifications When Someone Fills Out the Form
To make things easier for yourself, you should enable email notifications for Google Forms. Basically, when someone fills out the form, you will receive an email for the same. That way, you don’t have to keep opening your Google Form or associated spreadsheet to check the responses received.
Open Google Form from Google Drive to enable email notifications. Click/tap the Replies tab at the top.

Then click on the three-dot icon under the Answers tab.

Select ‘Get email notifications for new replies’.
