Choosing a rival for the new bogeyman of the UFC roster is no easy feat. Khamzat Chimaev. Again, Michael Bisping believes he is a name in the middleweight division ready to throw him against the Chechen star.
Khamzat Chimaev has become a big star and is undoubtedly the biggest draw in the middleweight division. The Chechen fighter may not have a belt on his waist, but he scores more points than in championship fights. His debacle at UFC 279 only made him bigger.
Last weekend, Khamzat was scheduled to headline the first pay-per-view event. Nate Diaz also UFC 279. The Chechen, however, weighed 8 pounds more than the contract weight limit, causing him to lose one point in the main event. The fighter instead fought against Kevin Holland in the main event, and he definitely beat up his new opponent.
Former UFC champion and now commentator Michael Bisping wasn’t there to call Khamzat’s fight live, but he’s fully invested in all PPV given all the drama. After Khamzat’s weight-gain challenge, it’s still unclear whether Borz will continue to fight in the middleweight division. However, if he does, Bisping has a perfect opponent in mind.

Michael Bisping wants more ‘Chaos’ in Khamzat Chimaev’s fights
One of the proposed fights for Chimaev after defeating former championship contender Gilbert Burns was a stunning matchup against former interim heavyweight champion Colby Covington. Michael Bisping loves this idea. Bisping talks about Colby and Khamzat in the final episode of his podcast, “Believe You Me.”
“Who’s that [Khamzat] next war? I don’t know if it is 170 for Khamzat. I would say title fight, but Leon Edwards will probably fight Usman. Who else is there? Colby?! Colby Covington would be great! It would be great,” said Michael on his podcast.
Fans were also waiting for a matchup between Covington and Chimaev just for the press conference. Many believe Colby could be Chimaev’s kryptonite, given his grappling skills as well as his insane stamina. Want to see Khamzat fight Covington next?
