‘Removed for cheating’ – Dominick Cruz not too impressed by TJ Dillashaw’s title chances

Dominick Cruz talks about Dillashaw’s championship chances! Aljamain Sterling defeated Petr Yan in a minor welterweight title rematch at the joint main event of UFC 273. Sterling won the title by disqualification, Yan hit him with an illegal knee in their first fight, and Sterling was crowned the new champion.

The internet repelled him for holding a title he claimed he didn’t deserve, but Sterling stood up straight after his latest win and now wants to defend his belt against hungry contenders. During UFC 273, Sterling summoned TJ Dillashaw to a fight, and TJ joined the event.

He immediately accepted his call, and this fight seems more likely than ever. There are a lot of people waiting in line for a fight in the episode, and former champion Dominick Cruz expressed his concern about TJ’s chance to win the title. He took up the subject during his appearance MMA Timesaid, “He was suspended for cheating, so to shoot after a win, okay, great. Sounds like a connection to me. He took two years off, he really didn’t lose any money, and then he came right back.”

Sterling came back and defeated Cory Sandhagen in his final match, but Cruz believes the other athletes put in a lot more effort and deserved the shot more than he did. “He didn’t have an easy fight, Sandhagen is no joke” said Cruz. “But still, a fight? Pedro Munhoz and all these other people in the department are competing, competing, competing, it’s crazy.”

Added, “But I understand because when I was laid off for so long for a knee injury, I came back, fought Mizugaki, injured my knee again, and came back and won the championship. But I hadn’t lost and I hadn’t been in trouble for anything, I just broke my knees. So, it’s a little different and This is how I got my chance.”

Cruz tries to tackle another legend, Jose Aldo. Aldo has been accumulating wins since losing to Petr Yan and has also called in Sterling for the title. Nothing has been booked yet, but it would be interesting to see what happens next.
