Chris Curtis explains why he’s so eager to fight Jack Hermansson under circumstances that aren’t in his favour. Hermansson would face Darren Till at the joint main event of UFC London on July 23 at the O2 Arena. Till was a highly anticipated challenge as he was a big star in London. However, it was announced that Till withdrew his name from the fight due to injury.
In a recent interview with BlockAsset, he also admitted that he wasn’t fully prepared mentally, nor was he 100 percent. He said:
“I am at a low point. I feel like I’m in Tyson Fury moments. Honestly, I don’t drink or do drugs. It’s not my style, but I still feel that way. It is a very depressing time for me right now.”
After withdrawing his name to the end, Chris Curtis used this chance to replace the British in the fight.

“So to anyone who asks, I got into this challenge because it’s such a great opportunity. I know circumstances aren’t in my favor, but that’s life guys. I’m not afraid to risk loss because I don’t let fear keep me from taking risks. Risks are the only way forward.

Curtis recently made his UFC debut and has a three-game winning streak and will want to continue that momentum even further. Hermansson is 8th in the middleweight division and a win against him would definitely place Curtis in the top ten fighters in the classification. Although his preparations are poor, there is always a chance for Curtis to win in this match.
