Dan Hooker used Max Verstappen’s dominance in the sport to defend the praises of his friend and gym mate Israel Adesanya. The Nigerian-born Kiwi has been at the top of the middleweight division since knocking out Robert Whittaker at an indoor Marvel Stadium.
Verstappen He managed to start the Belgian GP with 14th place and finish the race at the top. That in itself was an incredible feat, what made it all the more special was that Ferrari’s championship rival Charles Leclerc was pushed back to sixth place by a single miracle that could save any hopes of a successful run.
If this sounds like it, it may be because the same thing happens to Izzy every time and her opponents can’t bring the fight to her, and Izzy has a strong enough style to go to victory every time. This is well accentuated by the fact that Izzy has only had one finish in 5 championship defenses since winning the title from Whittaker.

Dan Hooker defends Israel Adesanya against fans and critics who call him “Boring”
Fans have accused Izzy of being a “boring fighter” because most of those fights that resulted in resolutions got to that point with no key moments to show. This was most evident in his final battle against Jared Cannonier; here, the Champion convinced people that they were meant for the complete elimination of weapons. “Killa Gorilla” but instead he had to play a low-intensity match with less than 200 key hits.
Dan Hooker is Adesanya’s longtime friend and although she can always pick Izzy when she gets the chance, she doesn’t appreciate others doing the same. In the same light, Dan decided today to take a stand for his teammate, taking F1 as an example.
“So you win and all but play it safe. If you were really that good you would have hit the wall a few times or at least slowed down for someone else to catch up,” Read Hooker’s tweet pointing out the absurdity of asking an athlete to get out of more trouble than necessary. This is a critique of fans who claimed Izzy was too careful about taking damage.

He wrapped it up with a classic fan rationale: “It would have made it more exciting to watch as a fan.” The tweet hit the spot and even got backlash from UFC stars Alexander Volkanovski and Jessica Rose Clarke.
