After the spectacular win at UFC 281, Dustin Poirier shockingly admitted that he was “SCARED” to fight Michael Chandler.

Who would have thought Dustin Poirier, who went through tons of battles in an octagon was “afraid” to fight Michael Chandler In UFC 281?

Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler have built their fights for quite some time and have had some leading disrespectful moments. UFC 281. There was no doubt that the public’s main event would become an absolute blockbuster. Poirier and Chandler delivered the war they promised. The duo engaged in a “bloody” battle for two and a half rounds on the main card, leaving fans speechless.

After Poirier subdued Chandler in the final round, he went to his opponent’s side and admitted that the disrespect that was being done to him was due to fear. “Hey Mike, no disrespect bro. I was afraid to fight you. It comes from a healthy place” said Poirier, insulting Chandler after a fight.

“The Diamond” later dropped a gem saying: “There is no courage without fear.” Both had some ugly moments during the fight, as the winner accused Chandler of cheating. However, it’s hard to get angry after attacking a fighter for about 15 minutes inside the octagon.

At UFC 281’s post-fight press conference, Poirier was more than happy to explain what he meant by “fearing” Michael Chandler after the fight. “These are the kind of fights I want to sign. These contracts are making me nervous.” said Poirier. The Louisiana fighter admitted that Chandler was one of the most dangerous fighters on the roster and forced him to work harder.

Michael Chandler has been nothing but pure fun in all of his fights. Since his debut with the UFC, the former Bellator champion has continued to earn a bonus every time apart from one fight. Only one of his five fights was settled. The only decision fight is against Justin Gaethje, who remains the Fight of the Year.

Poirier took 11 months to fight and went completely into the fight against Chandler, knowing it would be a “head-on” fight. Poirier has now successfully passed the test and has proven to be the better fighter of the two.
