For the Arizona Cardinals, most of the conversation has surrounded franchise quarterback Kyler Murray ahead of the new NFL season. The 24-year-old is desperate to grab a new contract in the franchise before hitting a ball for them in 2022.
Murray and the Cardinals seemed to be at a stalemate a few days ago when the actor removed all pictures and things related to the Cardinals from his social media account. However, things have improved but Kyler Murray still hasn’t received a contract offer from his team.
Kyler Murray seeks new contract with Arizona Cardinals
On this issue, several former Arizona Cardinals players at Chase Edmonds and Patrick Peterson have voiced their thoughts on Kyler Murray’s future in the franchise. Edmonds, who is currently with the Miami Dolphins, supported Minnesota Vikings man Peterson, who thought Murray would soon leave the team.
Patrick Peterson felt that the Arizona Cardinals got a little too comfortable with their approach to perfection each season, and that’s not good enough for Kyler Murray, who is just starting out in his NFL career.
“Number. I’ve been around K1. He’s a competitor” Peterson said, via USA Today. “With all due respect to the Arizona Cardinals, I don’t think they’ve put the team in a position to be successful every year. Instead of being aggressive on the free roster and waiting for the future, they just want to sit down and wait for the draft picks instead of getting guys who can help you get better at the moment. And Kyler Murray isn’t going to sit around and wait for that.”
“Man, that’s the way things are and I don’t think how people move and trade.” Edmonds replied when asked if Murray would stay with the team throughout his career. “It’s a new way, bro. It’s a new era in the NFL.
“He wants to win. People will say a lot about K1 but he wants to win more than anything, I promise you. So if the win isn’t happening, I don’t know.”
