In a move that shocked the NFL, the Seattle Seahawks parted ways with #1 quarterback Russell Wilson ahead of the 2022 NFL season. The 33-year-old quarterback won a trade move to the Denver Broncos after much speculation surrounding his future at the club.
However, after last season’s failure to qualify for the playoffs, the Seahawks are experiencing major turmoil in their ranks, which has begun with the layoffs of several backroom staff.
Russell Wilson’s contract was two years away, but there were whispers that he was unhappy with the Seahawks.

Mike Sando, a well-known journalist who follows the NFL, gave his input on why the franchise took such a drastic decision. At the athletic football show, Sandi said that insane wage demands were the main reason she was let go because the franchise wasn’t prepared to pay her $50 million in a year on her new contract.
“They need to find a different quarterback. I think their calculus is they wouldn’t pay Russell Wilson $50 million on his next contract, which he would have wanted. I don’t know if you’ve noticed over the past year, Russell Wilson and some dust and smoke has risen from his camp.” said Mike Sando.
Sando continued, “Two years left, a year from now on a contract year, and so that’s all he was talking about. All they said was we saw the best of Russell Wilson and we’re not going to pay him $50 million or whatever to make him happy. We don’t think we can make him happy.”
Mike Sando felt Seattle Sea Falcons This year he wanted something in return by trading, which wouldn’t have happened if they had kept him going.

“Our choices now are to let him play for 2 more years and then franchise tags and all sorts of things or decide a year from now that we don’t pay him that much and we trade him in, or you know what, we know. It’s a long marriage already. It won’t happen, so let’s do it now and we can get something in return.”
“Maybe Aaron Rodgers won’t finish,” says Marcus Spears of the Green Bay Packers’ new preseason roster.
