Being an NFL player is the dream of millions, out of this million dreamers only a thousand have the skills to stay in the league, but only 10 of them get drafted and succeed. Because not everyone has the necessary work ethic to go to the league with their talents. So, being the new draft pick and getting a chance to play in the NFL is a blessing, but what if you finally feel like it’s a curse and you decide to leave millions of dollars on the table and walk away and follow a life that preaches that word? and the master’s message.
That’s exactly what Indianapolis Colts Safety Khari Willis did. The defensive player was about to enter his fourth season in the league but eventually got a higher call without giving up. Police retired at the age of 26, just in time to hit its prime. Let’s see what prompted him to make such a decision.

Khari Willis It refers to a situation that causes him to move away from a career full of fame and comfort towards a life that is the opposite. “Two years ago I was in one of the darkest places in my life and Jesus came and spoke to my heart and saved me and delivered me from a life of sin and ever since then, I have been searching and searching for what his will was for my life and which direction he wanted me to go” Willis states.
He goes on to add that he thinks a lot about it and even talks about it with a lot of people. There was a feeling in him that maybe football wasn’t the ultimate goal, but that he needed to do something different. Willis tried to silence that voice by managing both his athletic career and his religious studies, but as we know there is no such thing as a part-time NFL player, Willis couldn’t do both at one point. He decided it was time to make a decision and chose the path that gave him the most inner peace.
“God has guided me with much prayer, much thought, and much counsel to walk away. (from football). “I had a lot of confidence in the decision that God was leading me to,” he said. Khari added it. While it is normal for the average person to understand such a decision, Willis believes: “You have to taste and see to understand where I come from.” Security now wants to spend the spring of her life spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and she wants to give her all to the Lord as best she can.
Colts issued a statement expressing his gratitude to the organization, “First of all, I want to thank the Indianapolis Colts organization for giving me the opportunity to compete in the National Football League over the past three years. I have built lifelong relationships with numerous teammates, coaches, and support teams that have greatly influenced me. The lessons I learned at this stage of my life will be valuable to me in my next chapter. As I sought to dedicate the rest of my life to the further advancement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I chose to officially retire from the NFL. I thank all my family, friends and those who have supported me on this journey thus far and look forward to your continued support in the next phase of my life.”
Willis played in 39 games for the Colts and recorded 219 balls, 4 INTs, one TD and 3.5 sacks throughout his career. He was selected in the fourth round of Michigan State in 2019. Colts Head Coach Frank Reich wished him the best in all his future endeavours.
“We are grateful and grateful for Khari’s contributions to the Colts both on and off the field over the past three seasons, Khari’s character, leadership and professionalism will be missed in our locker room and at his game on Sunday. I admire and respect his decision to move on to the next phase of his life and service. I hear you and my prayers will always be with him.” Coach Reich stated.
