Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown has been pretty vocal about his departure from his former team, the Tennessee Titans. Like any other expansion, Brown asked the Titans for a lucrative deal as he entered the final year of his rookie contract. But he said the team offered him a low price.
Additionally, the Titans felt that Brown’s team was playing hardball during the contract extension. Brown also stopped communicating with the team and skipped practice until a new deal was reached. This behavior led the Titans to trade Brown to the Eagles.

AJ Brown says he understands why the Titans traded him, but didn’t appreciate how the whole ordeal went down
AJ Brown was selected by the Tennessee Titans from Ole Miss in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft. Brown quickly became famous for his insane productivity and unmatched skills on the field. However, during the 2022 NFL draft, he was traded by the Titans to the Eagles for his 18th overall pick in the draft.
Since leaving Tennessee, Brown’s ego seems to have been hurt, as Deebo Samuel received a three-year deal from the 49ers for $73.5 million, including a guaranteed massive $58.1 million extension. Brown’s draft buddies DK Metcalf and Terry McLaurin also received huge contract extensions, leaving Brown apparently alone. Brown signed a four-year, $100 million contract guaranteed for $57 million.
Now that all is said and done, the 25-year-old buyer said he wanted to stick with the Eagles. “You know, it’s a business and I don’t feel sorry for a trade or anything because it’s a business or whatever.” Brown told NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero. “But honestly, I didn’t appreciate how it all went and they blamed me for it. I’m man enough to say this, but people can take it for granted. But I’m not on bad terms with Tennessee. I’m moving forward. I’m happy being here. But there are many things that people don’t know, and they’re just pointing at me. But it’s okay.”
Let’s see how AJ Brown will perform in Philadelphia and will the Titans regret whether they passed him or not. Brown and the Eagles will face the Titans on December 4 in Philadelphia.
