Andrew Wiggins may be the least valued player on the Golden State Warriors roster this season, but they need to find ways to make better use of him. It looks like the team will have to work smarter against the defensively heavier Boston Celtics, coached by one of the league’s smartest coaches, Ime Udoka. Both teams have the best defensive ratings in their divisions, but the Warriors have something the Celtics don’t, and that’s experience.
Game 1 was a complete shock after the dubs were upset in the last quarter of the night. Boston was down 15 points at the end of the third quarter, but their defense tightened towards the end, cutting the Warriors down to 16 points in a 17-0 streak with less than 2 minutes to go. As Stephen Curry said, this series will be a “test” for their progress.

Al Horford was the player of the night for the Boston Celtics in his first game of the NBA Finals. He scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in 9-12 shooting, including 6 3-pointers. Jaylen Brown added 24 points to the overall score and 18 points from Marcus Smart, who had 4 draggers and 2 steals out of the three. Jayson Tatum led the team with 13 assists. Shot distributions were .506/.512/.813.
It was a bitter end for the Warriors after going ahead throughout the game and falling short towards the end. Curry had 34 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the game and had 6 three pointers in just the first quarter. Klay Thompson scored 15 points in the game but Dubs need to be more consistent and active offensively for the Dubs to win. Draymond Green had 11 rebounds and 5 assists as facilitator. Shooting distributions were .443/.422/.733.
Andre Iguodala excites Andrew Wiggins at the end of the third quarter
Andrew Wiggins’ presence can be more effective if used well offensively alongside Curry and Thompson. It was one of the biggest reasons the Warriors were ahead of the Celtics in the third quarter. He finished the game with 20 points and 5 rebounds. After the heroic quarter, veteran Andre Iguodala was seen trying to keep his hot streak alive with some words of encouragement with Wiggins.
The Warriors tackle Boston’s strong defense. During one game, Celtic left almost no room for Golden State to score, despite having to spin the ball a lot. GSW will be redeemed once again at the Chase Center this Sunday night, and then they’ll be on their way.
