The 2013 OSCARS will be held on Sunday at 19:00 Eastern and those who can’t watch their TV can see all the action from their iPhone or iPad in the OSCARS mobile app. This year’s OSCARS event will take place for the 85th time and will be hosted by Seth MacFarlane.
Some of the films competing for Best Picture this year are Argo, Lincoln, Django Unchained and Les Misérables. While the app lets you watch the event live, it’s also great for extra content while watching the event live on TV. Some of the app’s features include choosing people you think will win categories, watching behind-the-scenes interviews, and reading news about the event.
How to Watch 2013 OSCARS on iPhone?
Go to the App Store and OSCAR app for your iPhone or iPad.
After downloading the app, tap the OSCARS icon to open it. When users first open the app, it will ask for access to their Twitter account. Tap OK to enable social sharing from within the app.
After opening the application, users are greeted with a slide show of OSCAR nominated films.
Tap the yellow arrow for the latest OSCAR news and details.
The app has many different categories to choose from. View the app in landscape position to see them more clearly.
Tap the Backstage Pass to view interviews with celebrities, watch them walk the red carpet, and more.
Another great feature of the app is the My Choices section. This part of the app allows users to choose who they think will win certain categories and share it with their Facebook friends.
One of the most important parts of the application is the Video tab. There are already some behind-the-scenes videos to watch, and more will be uploaded during the event. Users can also stream OSCARS live, but unlike many official events apps, ABC did it as a companion app.
Users can see behind-the-scenes and other broadcasts, but it looks like the main announcements will be limited to the TV broadcast. Winners will appear on behind-the-scenes cameras to tell more about what winning means to them. Users can also select the cameras they want to see in Director mode.
