Instagram has brought a ton of new features in the last few months and as you can imagine, a brand new feature called “Superzoom” has arrived on Instagram. Superzoom features are integrated into the in-app camera and it’s one of the funniest Instagram features I’ve used. It allows you to record clear videos of the camera by zooming in on someone’s face or any other object with suspicious music playing in the background by default. You can use this new feature to complement your everyday nuances in Instagram Stories with some fun and creative everyday videos.
Use Instagram Super Zoom Feature on Android or iOS
note: I tried the superzoom feature on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 running Android 6.0 on Instagram v 20.0.0.29.75 (stable) and it worked perfectly. This feature is also available for iOS devices.
If you’re in the mood for some fun and want to make your friends laugh with stuttering zoom videos, here are the steps to make a Superzoom video and share it with your friends:
1. Open the Instagram app and tap the “camera” icon top left. Under the shutter button, you can now scroll through the recording options available at the bottom. to find New “Super Zoom” feature that sits between Boomerang and Rewind.
3. What you need to do now tap the circular ‘shutter’ button To automatically record a 3-second Superzoom video To post to your Instagram story. However, you can hold down the shutter button to record a 15-second Super Zoom with an extended and slow final zoom on the subject. Here’s a quick close-up of our bobble head Tony Stark:

4. You can now choose between two options. Share the Superzoom video with your followers by adding it to your Story or send it as a Direct Message to your friends. You can save the same for uploading elsewhere, maybe as a GIF.

While it’s gratifying to see the debut of a new creative format for Instagram, you Can create zoom videos even without the superzoom feature. All you have to do is hold down the shutter button and drag your finger across the screen to zoom in a vertical motion. This video will be zoomed in, but the stuttering effect and intriguing music may be missing from the video.

Adding more fuel to meme culture, this newly dramatized feature now joins the ranks of popular Instagram features like Boomerang GIFs, Hyperlapse, and Layout for collage. Superzoom lets you get closer and personal to your subject, whether it’s a friend, a soda can, or just anything random around you. You can even make a crow sitting on your porch look scary with the zoom and intriguing music in the background of the video.
Super zoom is really fun to mess around and we should see “Instagram Stories” spreading with these kind of close-ups. Are you excited to share random Superzooms with your followers? Write your thoughts about this creative feature below.
