The all-new LG G4 finally announced Last week after months of rumors and speculation and tons of software features along with Android 5.1 Lollipop along with the new 16 megapixel camera and 6 core processor. Now that the device will be released soon, users will start to have questions after receiving the device, and here we will cover how to take a screenshot on a smartphone.
LG’s handset is packed with advanced features and technologies like laser autofocus on the back of the camera, but something we’re constantly asked is something as simple as taking a screenshot. Whether you want to take a screenshot of funny posts on Facebook, memes on the web, or even important emails, screenshots are an easy way to capture the important stuff right from your screen.
This feature or cheat is an old feature that has been available on Android in the same way for years, but it’s one that many consumers want to learn and start enjoying right away. If you’re coming from a Samsung or Apple device, you need to know how LG does it. There are two ways LG G4 owners can take screenshots. One is the same for years and the other is the same as other LG phones like the G2 using QuickMemo. All it takes is a few buttons or swipes on the screen.
If you’ve owned or used an Android device in the last few years, you’ll be at home and probably won’t even have to look for how. However, if you are new to smartphones, an Android converting from iPhone or Windows Phone, below are a few simple steps you need to do to capture and save a screenshot.
For those who are confused. A screenshot (or screenshot) is essentially our smartphones capturing and recording whatever is on the screen. This can then be edited or cropped to get exactly what you want, making it extremely useful for a variety of uses.
Instructions
As mentioned above, capturing screenshots on Android devices is ridiculously easy, and the same can be said for all LG phones. All you have to do is press and hold both the power button and the volume down key at the same time. This may sound strange as the G4 has buttons on the back, but place your finger so you can press both at the same time.
Briefly press and hold the power and volume down buttons at the same time and release; You will see the animation on the screen and hear the screenshot. This much. Your phone saves what is viewed and can be accessed from the photo gallery. From here you can share as you wish or switch to edit mode and crop the edges while adding some flair with any of the many editing tools available on Android.
If you try and it doesn’t work, try again. It’s all about hitting them at the same time with a short pause and then letting go. Timing is everything and it’s easy to understand.
However, there is a second method that is even technically easier, but I still find myself using the above method out of habit. LG has a feature called QuickMemo+ which is a way to quickly and easily take notes or reminders along with screenshots. Tap the QuickMemo+ button in the notification pop-up bar quick settings and take a screenshot of whatever is on the screen. From here, you can draw on, edit, crop, and more, similar to what we mentioned above.
It’s all super easy and takes just a few seconds. Personally the button combination is the easiest because you can share directly from your gallery or notification bar without having to save and do all the other actions with QuickMemo+. The LG G4 will be launching from most carriers in the US soon, and we’ll have more how-tos as the release approaches.
