Assigning a custom ringtone to iPhone is an easy way to know who’s calling without taking iPhone out of your pocket.
Apple makes it easy to assign custom ringtones for callers in the iPhone address book. iPhone can also play a different text alert for each contact.
You can choose from default iPhone ringtones and alert tones, purchase new ringtones and alerts in iTunes, or create your own ringtones from sound clips and songs.
How to Assign Custom Ringtones on iPhone?
Follow the steps below to set new ringtones for contacts on iPhone.
1. Tap the Contacts App to view the contacts on your iPhone.
2. Select the contact you want to change.
3. Tap edit at the top right of your screen.
4. Tap Default next to the ringtone to choose a new ringtone for that contact.
5. Browse the text and ringtones library and find the one you like.
6. Tap on your selection with a check mark next to it and press the save button in the top right.
7. Repeat to change the text alert and set new custom ringtones for each additional contact.
Now the contact will ring whenever they call from a number saved in the contacts app. Any contact you don’t change as a custom ringtone will play the default ringtone. This is also the perfect time to set up new text tones for frequent texters.
If you want to silence a frequent caller, you can assign a silent ringtone to silence annoying callers without turning off the iPhone ringtone completely.
