5 Reasons Not To Get The Samsung Galaxy S5 Immediately

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is still a very solid smartphone, a year after its release, but it’s not a smartphone we’d be buying right now. If you’re looking to buy a new device and have your eye on the Samsung Galaxy S5, listen to us before you buy one.

Last year, Samsung introduced the fifth-generation Galaxy S device, which it calls the Samsung Galaxy S5. The Galaxy S5 was launched on a number of US carriers in April and has quickly become one of the best Android smartphone options on the market.

Galaxy S5 is 14 months old. Not spring chicken. But it’s still a device worth considering, thanks to its hardware, updated software, and affordable price tag. Retailers and operators are giving this phone to someone else.

While the Galaxy S5 is definitely on your radar, we recommend against buying a Galaxy S5 right now. We’re not saying forget the phone completely, but it will be in your best interest to check for rain for a few weeks. Here is why.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Launch

The first reason you should be waiting for the Galaxy S5 right now is because Samsung is only a few days away from launching (at least) two new flagship phones.

Samsung has an Unpacked event scheduled for August 13 (next week), and the company is expected to unveil its third and fourth flagship phones of the year here. The other two are the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is one of these phones. And according to rumors, it will be a powerful successor to the Galaxy Note 4 and a nice addition to Samsung’s existing lineup of devices.

Samsung’s Next Big Thing is expected to feature a large high-resolution display, 4GB of RAM, Android 5.1.1, a sleek design, tons of storage, a massive battery, and more. It is expected to debut on August 13 and launch in some regions on August 21. This is not a long wait at all.

Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Others

The other device that is expected to appear at Samsung’s event next week is the Galaxy S6 Edge +, also known as the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.

The device is said to be a larger 5.5-inch version of the Galaxy S6 Edge. It should come with tons of high-end features but is not expected to include an S Pen stylus like the Galaxy Note 5. A device you should compare to the Galaxy S5.

Like the Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is expected to hit shelves at the end of August, meaning you probably only have a few days before you physically compare it to the Galaxy S5. We strongly recommend that you do this.

These devices are the closest, but there is a good chance that Google will announce new Nexus phones with the Android M update in the third quarter. The company is reportedly preparing two Nexus phones, one 6-inch and the other 5-inch, and of these, the 5-inch Nexus 5 2015 will probably be the most attractive to prospective Samsung Galaxy S5 buyers.

Android M is expected to arrive at the end of August or September, so you should wait a few weeks before purchasing your next device.

iPhone 6s Edition

If you’re not tied to the Galaxy S5 and Android, you’ll be interested to know that Apple has two new iPhones for 2015. Even better, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are expected to arrive in September. as well as iOS 9.

We haven’t been able to set a specific date yet, but current theory is that Apple will release them all between September 8 (end of a T-Mobile iPhone 6 deal) and September 28 (end of Apple’s fiscal year). .

iPhone 6s release date options are down to just a few days.

The company is said to have the 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus and the 4.7-inch iPhone 6s. Both are expected to come with some new features such as Force Touch displays, reinforced cameras, a brand new processor, and all-metal designs like their predecessors.

If you’re not sold on Android, we’d expect the Apple product to arrive. We’re probably just a few weeks away.

Galaxy S6 Price Drops

There is more. The arrival of the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ has helped bring the prices of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge down.

Samsung recently announced that it will lower the prices of these devices, and carriers and retailers have followed suit. We’ve seen Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge price drops unfold in the United States and abroad, and we expect prices to continue to drop over the coming weeks.

Galaxy S6 is the best competitor of Galaxy S5. If you were smart, you’d wait a few weeks to see where the phone’s price goes. Two Galaxy S6 models could get really cheap as we head into September.

Other Price Drops

We expect the arrival of the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, iPhone 6s and the new Nexus phones to start a chain deal reaction.

Galaxy Note 4 is already sinking. We’ve seen a stream of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus deals. And as the days go by, we should start to see some of the Nexus 6 price drop.

Once these next-gen devices are out, the deals will likely turn into static price cuts, allowing you to catch up with many Galaxy S5 rivals much cheaper.

Samsung’s Galaxy S5 isn’t going anywhere, and right now is a great time to sit back and watch all of this happen. Wait for the smoke to settle. Who knows, maybe you’ll still own the Galaxy S5. Or maybe you won’t. This is entirely up to you.
