Our Wild Hearts Bladed Wagasa weapon guide will help you tackle this deadly parasol, including its unique dodge mechanic that can block attacks. Not only that, skillful use can increase Wagasa’s damage over time, filling her weapon gauge, and transforming her from something just fine to something unstoppable. That’s why I’ve put together everything you need to know about the Wild Hearts Bladed Wagasa weapon below, including tips, tricks, move sets, and more.
How to use Wild Hearts Bladed Wagasa?
Wild Hearts Bladed Wagasa uses its parry power to force a more aggressive form of combat than many other Wild Hearts weapons, and you should use it to get close to enemies and gain an advantage. To put it bluntly, once you can block any attack, you have no excuse not to be right in front of Kemono. The hard part is mastering the parry itself, but as you get better you’ll be able to fill the weapon gauge in the bottom left, which will potentially increase Wagasa’s damage by a huge amount.
Wild Hearts Bladed Wagasa is ready for the following key moves for the promising umbrella pioneer.
- Square/X: Spindance/sweep attack
- Triangle/Y: lunge attack
- R2/RT: Trench (consumes significant stamina)
Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s simple, there’s actually a lot more to it than that – Wagasa has a complex variety of combos that tend to throw players unpredictably across the battlefield – but that’s the key to using the weapon correctly. To use it well, you must master these two additional elements.
Wagasa’s signature elements in Wild Hearts are the unique dodge ability and the Spindance Indicator in the lower left of the weapon. I will consider both here.
Parry is a fast block that can deflect basically any attack (it’s a small window and has a short cooldown) provided you aim Wagasa directly at him and time it right. Timing is definitely something you need to learn, but it is an unbeatable defense. Unfortunately, like few other techniques it eats up Stamina – you can only do it three times in a row before you have to wait for a recharge.
The spindance gauge is the weapon gauge in three sections above your health bar. As you damage enemies, this indicator will increase, and if you can successfully dodge an attack, it will increase by a lot. However, it will also decrease over time, so you will have to constantly press to keep the advantage high.
Each time the indicator reaches one of the notches, Wagasa’s damage will increase (indicated by glowing orange on the weapon). Filling it up fully will give him a serious damage boost, and you’ll have a chance to enter more aggressively than ever before.
If you want to keep out both the rain and the thirty-foot Kemono, Wagasa is for you. Here is some advice to help make it as strong as possible.
- Spend some time practicing parry. You will really struggle to get the most out of the Bladed Wagasa unless you know how to use it with at least two-thirds reliability.
- Play aggressively! If you back off for more than a few seconds, you’ll likely lose all the progress made in your indicator.
- Wagasa’s Move really knocks the user out, so be careful when sending yourself into danger zone.
- While parry consumes a lot of stamina, keep a bow ready in case you burn yourself and see an attack coming.
