While the average person might timidly hope to hit 60 FPS in their games, there’s a segment of the population that pushes the frame rate boundaries a little bit every day: overclockers. Truly insane scores are regularly achieved in competitions that bring together the best in the field. However, none of them have achieved what Team Australia Extreme Overclocking achieved a few days ago.
Australians exceeded this limit in Counter-Strike 2 1300FPS. It’s true that competitive shooter players are always looking for the best possible performance, but we bet no one dares hope to achieve such a frame rate. But that’s not the problem: In this type of competition, technical success takes priority.
They reached 1300 FPS in Counter-Strike 2, this is an absolute record
In fact, not everyone can boast of achieving such a frame rate even with a similar configuration; We strongly recommend that you at least try it. To achieve this score, the Team obviously used the latest hardware: GeForce RTX 4090 for the graphics card and Intel i9-14900K for the processor. The latter was then overclocked; After all, this is what is expected from such a competition.
The Australians managed to repeat the success achieved by another team a few months ago, reaching a frequency of 9 GHz in the processor. To do this, they cut the Efficiency cores from the processor to preserve only the Performance cores (as a reminder, the two normally inherit from each other depending on the situation). They then immersed the CPU in a nitrogen bath as is customary to cool it. Participating in this study was Intel’s vice president, Roger Chandler.
Last technique: Just look at the ground in the game so that it requires as little effort as possible in terms of graphics rendering. Thanks to all these applications, overclockers have reached 1300 FPS, with a minimum of 900 FPS in the game. As a celebration, they even tried to play the game normally under the circumstances… only to receive repeated blue screens of death in response.
Today #IntelIEM overclockers #TeamAUS broke new speed records every year #Intel core14th Gen One of these was the highest FPS in Counter Strike 2 (>1310 FPS I think). The best part: Fans rallying to play in the world’s fastest CS2 session! @IntelGaming pic.twitter.com/ih7JDz4Ub4
