Is Wild Hearts open world?

Is Wild Hearts open world? Yes it is, but from the very beginning of the game it is divided into large regions and islands that are completely inaccessible. Below we’ll explain how Wild Hearts’ open world works, how to unlock different regions and what it takes to explore the entire continent around the village of Minato. Here are the basics of Wild Hearts’ open-world and region-based exploration.

Wild Hearts open world revealed

The open world of Wild Hearts is divided into five regions, plus a central town (Minato Village), but not all of them will be in one place to go right from the start. As you progress through the campaign, each of the five regions is unlocked, usually when the player reaches a new chapter and contains their own unique monsters and resources to exploit.

However, these regions themselves open worlds – as it were, they are huge; each is a huge island or landmass that players can freely explore in search of new items, secrets or objectives. It can take a long time to get through without help from someone or using the Wild Hearts fast travel, so we highly recommend using the Wild Hearts Karakuri Building system wisely to create ziplines, vehicles and bases to help you get around.

To switch between regions, go to the map and press R1/RB to go to the world map showing all regions. At this point, you can choose any of the tents you set up in those areas to go directly there.
