“Naruto” is one of the series that marked a generation with its captivating and emotional stories. And much of the success of this anime is due to its protagonist, the beloved Naruto Uzumaki. However, have you ever wondered what would happen if Naruto wasn’t the hero of the story?
In an interview, series creator Masashi Kishimoto revealed who his choice for protagonist would be if it weren’t Naruto: Kakashi Hatake or Jiraiya.
According to Kishimoto, if Naruto were not the main character, the story would not be told from Sasuke’s point of view, as a large part of the plot is already dedicated to him.
Instead, Kishimoto would like to explore other characters and chose Kakashi and Jiraiya as possible protagonists. This decision would open doors to a new perspective and a unique approach to the vast ninja world of “Naruto”.
Exploring Jiraiya’s adventures
Imagine immersing yourself in the adventures and life of Jiraiya, the legendary Sannin. We would follow more closely his dangerous missions, his training with the toads and his epic battles even before Naruto was born.
Jiraiya has always been a fascinating character, and learning more about his journeys would make for an exciting experience for fans of the series.
Another option would be to follow the story from the perspective of Kakashi Hatake, the famous one-copy ninja. Kakashi has a rich life experience and a mysterious past that could be explored in more depth.
We would learn more about their missions, their unique abilities and their relationships with other characters in the series. It would be an opportunity to uncover the secrets behind Kakashi’s mask.
Enriching the universe of ‘Naruto Shippuden’
By choosing Kakashi or Jiraiya as the protagonists, Masashi Kishimoto would have the chance to expand the “Naruto Shippuden” universe in exciting ways. Both characters have enormous appeal among fans and their stories would bring a new layer of depth to the narrative.
Furthermore, the choice of new protagonists would allow us to explore a different era in the ninja world, further enriching fans’ understanding of this beloved series.
Although Naruto was the undisputed protagonist, it is interesting to think about the possibilities that could have been explored. Kakashi and Jiraiya are charismatic and iconic characters, capable of captivating fans with their personalities and skills.
