Several leaks report that the iPhone 16 Pro is larger than the iPhone 15 Pro; new images confirm this information. A series of four photos showing the prototype of the future iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro side by side give us an idea of the size difference between the two devices.

The reason for this increase in volume is the increase in screen size. the diagonal would increase from 6.1 to 6.27 inches. However, the increase in the dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro will not be proportional to the dimensions of the screen. To maintain the compact size, Apple has managed to reduce the thickness of the borders around the panel. In the shared photos, we see that the iPhone 16 Pro is longer and wider than the iPhone 15 Pro, but the difference is limited.
iPhone 16 Pro Max is also growing
The move to an almost 6.3-inch display has to be the biggest change to the iPhone 16 Pro. The overall design of the device should be similar and the wide-angle camera should not move. However, the iPhone 16 Pro needs to be equipped with the new 48 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, Sony IMX903. It will also have a 12 MP periscopic telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, which was exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max so far.
The iPhone 16 Pro won’t be Apple’s only next-generation smartphone to offer a larger screen. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to be larger than the iPhone 15 Pro Max and its screen diagonal will be between 6.85 and 6.9 inches compared to 6.7 inches on the current model. Apple is likely to focus its communications campaign largely on these new formats.
If only Pro models are affected by this size increase, the Apple brand will have another argument to persuade users to choose the iPhone 16 Pro instead of the iPhone 16. Apple has had a hard time truly distinguishing its standard and Pro iPhones beyond photography. The allocation of the latest generation chip to the Pro models made it possible to widen the gap further, and a larger screen would make the difference within the series even more obvious.
