Rohit Sharma and partner. all ready to beat their arch rivals Pakistan in his first match T20 World Cup 2022 Sunday Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
Too much tension between BCCI and PCB off-site after a shocking statement by the BCCI secretary general Jay Shah. Shah stated earlier this week that India will not travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asian Cup. And since then the war of words between India and Pakistan has created great tension between the two countries.
But the captain of Team India is not bothered by what is going on behind the scenes and insists that he and his men focus entirely on the T20 World Cup match against Pakistan. At the press conference held before the match, Rohit was asked about his views on the subject.

Rohit Sharma says Team India is fully focused on T20 World Cup

“My view is, let’s focus on this World Cup because it’s important to us. We’re not worried about what will happen next. There’s no point thinking about that, BCCI will decide on that. We’re just thinking of focusing on tomorrow’s game,” said Rohit.
Team India’s last victory in the ICC tournament was in 2013 when they lifted the Champions Cup. Since then, Men and Blue have underperformed on the biggest stages. Rohit thinks it’s time to break the jinx and this time they need to upgrade the game.
“The pressure on Nahi bolunga (It’s not a pressure situation), but it’s definitely a challenge for us to get to the top. ICC tournaments. Yes, we did not have the performances we wanted very much, especially in the ICC tournaments where we played big matches. But I believe that opportunity always comes and we have the opportunity to come here and do good things.”
“So I think we need to focus on certain things to get it right. And yes, if I’m not mistaken, it’s hard not to win ICC trophies for nine years. The last time we won it was 2013,” he said.
Late India has been pretty tough and the team looks to be in great form ahead of the tournament. Talking about the same, Rohit insisted that every individual will play a crucial role in this cricket splurge.
“We will change our 11 in each match accordingly if needed,” the Indian captain told reporters.
During the T20 World Cups, India proved to be quite formidable against Pakistan. At this stage, six matches were played between the two arch-rivals, India won five and Pakistan one.
