A signature battle has begun between Cricket South Africa’s New T20 league and the UAE’s ILT20. Earlier, on Monday, ILT20 released a list of player names that have registered for the league.
Now, the CSA has confirmed the signatures of 30 international players for the inaugural edition. A roster of 17 players will represent each of the six franchises in the CSA league. Specifically, six Indian Premier League The owners bought six franchises in South Africa’s new league. The Mumbai Indian team at CSA named their franchise MI Cape Town and signed Rashid Khan, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran and Kagiso Rabada.
The Chennai Super Kings-owned franchise brought in Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali, while the franchise signed at Delhi Capitals-based Anrich Nortje and Aiden Markram was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad. Quinton de Kock was sold to the Lucknow Super Giants, while the Rajasthan Royals took the lead in Jos Buttler.
Owners of teams have the option to register up to five players before the auction. The five feature three overseas players, a Proteas player, and a capless South African player.
