“Compare my numbers at 30-32, no logic before that” – Rishabh Pant annoyed by question about his form in white ball cricket

Famous broadcaster ahead of the final ODI between India and New Zealand in Christchurch Harsha Bhogle interviewed Rishabh Pants about their opposite records in white ball and red ball cricket. Pant didn’t seem to like being asked this question, and his answer wasn’t liked by the fans either.

The 25-year-old player is the only Indian goalkeeper-hitter with Test tone in Australia, England and South Africa. Despite test successes, white ball records are below par. He was taken to the bench at the 2022 T20 World Cup and Dinesh Karthik given the chance. There is a rivalry between him and Sanju Samson in ODIs as well.

Speaking of the third ODI, Pant could only fire 10 rounds from the 16 ball. Shreyas Iyer (49) and Washington Sundar (51) drove India to 219. New Zealand has scored 104/1 to 19 so far before rain halted further trades.

Rishabh Pant’s case was similar to India’s former devastating opener Virender Sehwag, whose Test records were far better than white ball records. When Harsha Bhogle asked Pant about her opposite records in the three formats, the latter replied that her numbers in the formats should only be compared when they are past 30.

I asked the same question to Sehwag, now I’m going to ask you. Looking at you, we get the feeling that white ball cricket is your USP, but the better is your Test record…Bhogle asked Pant and Pant said, “Sir, records are just numbers. My white ball record isn’t bad either.

I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m comparing it to Test numbersadded Bhogle. “Comparing is not part of my life. I’m 24-25 years old, if you want to compare, you can do it when I’m 30-32. Before that there is no logic to mePant gave this response, which offended many fans.
