Amazon continues to hover over the success of the Echo series. After the Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Spot connected speakers, here’s the Echo Input. This new product of the American giant is not an audio device in itself. But it allows turn any speaker (or nearly) into a connected speaker that integrates Alexa.
Echo Input: Amazon’s Chromecast Audio
This system is reminiscent of Google’s Chromecast Audio, which was released in 2015. Alexa’s device has many similarities to Google’s product. It’s been a boon for Amazon ever since Google announced the end of Chromecast Audio.
There are two methods of connecting the Echo Input to a speaker: via bluetooth (if your hardware is compatible) or via a 3.5mm jack cable. WiFi connection not possible. Gravel is very discreet and invites itself easily into your furniture. Amazon offers it in two colors: black and white.. Classic and efficient.
Echo Input can respond to user requests thanks to its four microphones. As with other products in the Echo series, simply say “Alexa” and ask what you want. Echo Input is equipped with ESP (Echo Spatial Perception) technology: If you have other Echo speakers in your home, this technology will analyze the clarity of your voice and determine which speaker should respond to your wishes.
Of course, All functions of other Echo products are available Skills through Echo Input, and in particular. The only disappointment: Echo Input is not compatible with Sonos speakers.

Echo Input is already available for pre-order on the Amazon site. Marketing and first deliveries announced for January 30, 2019. An accessory (black or white) will be offered for purchase. Price: 39.99 euros.
