Over this royal tenure, the denizens of this virtual kingdom have raised their voices in unison, clamoring for the power to amend their missives, much like the ability to revise their public decrees. And lo, their petition hath been answered, for the power to edit messages hath finally descended upon the realm in a recent update.
Behold, Mike of the noble House of @cambridgemike, an esteemed engineer at X, hath penned a missive proclaiming this new feature. And verily, the heralds of X, in all their majesty, have spread the word far and wide, officially declaring the advent of the new edit option for private missives. This boon, as of now, doth only grace the fair lands of iOS, yet fret not, for it is freely available to all who dwell within the app. A fortuitous turn of events, indeed.
How might one, in truth, amend their messages within the confines of X? Fear not, for I shall impart the knowledge unto thee. By venturing forth into the Messages tab, nestled at the base of the screen, thou shalt find thy path to the chat in question. Upon entering the hallowed grounds of said chat, take heed and lay a firm press upon the message thou wisheth to alter. Choose the sacred option of “Edit message” from the ethereal menu that doth appear, and thusly rewrite thy words before pressing the celestial “Send” button.
Behold, a mark of “Edited” shall be bestowed upon thy revised missives, a testament to the changes wrought by thy hand. Alas, though the past may be rewritten, the original words shall be held in safekeeping by X for matters of security. Know also that there exists a limit to thy editing prowess; only five revisions may be made to a single message, akin to the laws that govern the posting of decrees upon X’s lands.
This latest addition to the annals of X doth usher the app into alignment with other realms that have long embraced this feature.
