But what if you want to sing along with the lyrics in an offline music player app on Android?
With the offline music player that has undergone many changes in recent years, you no longer need to go outside the player to search for lyrics.
Here you can argue that apps like Musixmatch and QuickLyric do their job of displaying the lyrics of the songs playing on your device. But the main thing is that your phone should always have an active data connection. It also leads to one more app on your phone.
So if you’re looking for offline music player apps with lyrics support, you’ve come to the right place.

1. BlackPlayer Music Player
BlackPlayer is easily one of the versatile players for offline music. The black interface is soothing to the eye and looks great at the same time. Unlike some players, BlackPlayer does not pull lyrics from the web.
Instead, it goes for a more subtle application. You will need to download the corresponding LRC files and place them in the same folder. Once this is taken care of, the player will immediately recognize the words.
Just make sure the song and LRC files have the same name. Simple enough, right?
note: LRC (LyRiCs) files are similar to SRT files used for subtitles. These files carry the lyrics of the song along with the timestamp and facilitate text-to-audio synchronization. There are lots of LRC file generators online and I can recommend Rentanadviser among many good ones.
At the same time, BlackPlayer’s interface is very easy to navigate. Just swipe left or right to switch from one tab to another. It supports a variety of audio formats and also includes a 5-band equalizer, which can further fine-tune the audiophile in you.
If the song tags are correct, the player will also download some album covers for you.
Apart from that, you can create playlists, mark songs as favourites, among others.
2. GoneMad Music Player
GoneMad is another excellent offline music player that lets you view the lyrics of the currently playing song. What I like about this offline music player is that it automatically downloads the album art. Yes, no manual intervention is required.
When it comes to, this app only supports embedded lyrics. You’ll need help from tools like MP3Tag to embed the lyrics. MP3Tag is a universal tag editor for Windows and allows you to easily edit tags of audio and video files.
After embedding the lyrics in the audio files, you can transfer the said audio files to your phone and then play the song and then tap Show Lyrics to view the lyrics.
If you’re looking for a synchronized lyrics option, GoneMAD doesn’t support it for now.
On the other hand, if the songs on your phone don’t have lyrics embedded, the apps will let you search for them with Musixmatch. But for this you will of course need an internet connection.
GoneMAD’s interface looks heavily inspired by Google’s Material Design, and you’ll find a soothing blue and white theme. If you’re not a fan of this color, you can always tweak it.
It is one step above BlackPlayer as it packs a neat 12-band equalizer with 16 different presets. It supports all major audio file formats such as FLAC, MP3, WAV and MPC.
3. Retro Player
If you like a minimalist music player, you will love Retro Player. This player offers two variants – Normal and Synchronized. If the lyrics of the song are embedded in it, you can view them under the Lyrics tab.
The best part is that you can add synchronized lyrics manually. Tap the Sync Lyrics tab, select Edit and add the phrases. Now all you have to do is play the songs loudly, tap the album art and sing out loud.
Retro Player has a simple and aesthetically pleasing interface and has lots of customizable options. If you like messing around with the look, feel, and general settings of your apps, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by what Retro Player has to offer.
The only downside is that it doesn’t have built-in equalizer support.
4. Poweramp Music Player
The list of offline music players is incomplete without mentioning Poweramp. When it comes to, Poweramp gives you a few in-app options like Musixmatch, Genius, QuickLyric among others.
You can also choose to search the lyrics directly on the Google web. You will need a stable internet connection to view the lyrics.
On top of that, Poweramp also supports embedded lyrics. The only limitation is that they don’t sync and you have to manually scroll up and down.
Other than that, Poweramp is a solid music player with a host of exciting new features. From rich visualizations to smooth scrolling gestures and robust equalizer options, the list goes on. It also includes support for using a new audio engine and hardware digital signal processor (DSP) to enhance your music experience.
5. Shuttle Music Player
Another stellar music player with lyric support is Shuttle Music Player. Shuttle gives you the option to view embedded lyrics and lets you choose lyrics app like QuickLyric.
The option to access the lyrics is easy. When the song starts playing, tap the three-dot menu and select Lyrics to view the words.
The interface is clean and the new age navigation gestures inside make it a joy to use. Did I mention it also supports Chromecast? The customization options are enormous and there’s also a 6-band equalizer.
Shuttle also includes support for playlists, FLAC, and Google Assistant integration. You will love the clean interface. As for file formats, the player will play them as long as your phone recognizes them. Clean, I would say.
