A Samsung Galaxy Android 8.0 Oreo beta release date has been revealed for Galaxy S8 users in the United States, and if it holds up, the Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo beta will launch soon.
Samsung’s Galaxy Android 8.0 Oreo plans are starting to emerge as we dig deeper into the year. Earlier this week, Samsung Turkey confirmed that it plans to launch Android 8.0 Oreo from early 2018, and today the company seems to have confirmed the rumored Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo beta.

Samsung will reportedly launch the Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo beta on October 31st. Registration will reportedly begin on Halloween, and Galaxy S8 owners will be able to sign up for the beta. Samsung Members and Samsung+.
According to the leak, 7500 spots per device will be open with a release on Sprint and T-Mobile. As for the update, it is said to include changes to the device’s user interface.
It is important to note that this information does not come from Samsung itself. It comes from an unknown source with an unknown background. That said, Samsung is said to have prepared a Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo beta and betas the company has used in the past to test new operating systems.
Earlier this year, the Samsung-based site SamMobile Released Android Oreo firmware versions For Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. These versions are G950FXXE1ZQI7 and G955FXXU1ZQI7.
The Galaxy S8 device names appear in the build number G950 (Galaxy S8) and G955 (Galaxy S8+), but the key component is the letter “Z”. Samsung uses the letter “Z” in its test software, and the letter was available in Android Nougat versions for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Android Nougat beta was released in November (November 9) and stretched to late December before being widely released in early 2017. And like the rumored Galaxy S8 beta, the Galaxy S7 Nougat beta came with some restrictions.
The company’s previous beta was limited to users in the US, UK, Korea, and China, and the company’s Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Games Limited Edition and Galaxy S7 Edge Injustice Edition were dropped from the program.
Samsung’s Android Nougat beta was also limited to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. Popular devices such as the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 are not included in the program.
While the Galaxy S8 Android Oreo beta is in limbo, Samsung is clearly working behind the scenes on the Android 8.0 Oreo update.
Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Android 8.0 updates recently appeared in benchmarks; it’s a sign that they’re testing it behind the scenes. We expect the Galaxy S8 to be one of the first to get Android 8.0 Oreo, and we expect Samsung’s full update list to look like this:
While devices like the Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S7, and rumored Galaxy S9 will almost certainly run Android Oreo at some point, some popular devices may miss the upgrade.
Phones like the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy Note 5 fall outside of Samsung’s standard two-year software support, meaning they’ll likely stay on Android Nougat.
However, Samsung and its carrier partners often extend bug fixes and security patches to devices well beyond the two-year mark. Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5 recently received new security updates and they are still on Android Marshmallow.
