Nexus 5 Android Marshmallow Edition: 7 Things to Expect

The Nexus 5 Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has been confirmed, but we don’t know exactly when Google will pull it out of beta and make it available to the public. Armed with new details, we want to take a look at a few things we can expect from the Nexus 5 Android Marshmallow release.

We’ve been using the Nexus 5 since it was released in 2013, and like many of you, we’ve installed every Android update Google has given us. We’ve had everything from KitKat to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Earlier this year, Google confirmed another system update for the Nexus 5. At Google I/O, the company announced Android M and outlined a number of its key features. The company has also released an Android M Developer Preview that has been available for the Nexus 5 for several months.

We’re now in Android M Developer Preview 3, which means we’re one step closer to the public release of the update, now known as Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Google confirmed the name a few days before another inevitable announcement.

According to rumors, Google is preparing two new Nexus smartphones, one from LG and the other from Huawei. Google, like Apple, tends to confirm new software details alongside new hardware.

With an Android Marshmallow release confirmed for Q3 and a Nexus launch date on the horizon, it’s time to start paying attention to the Nexus 5 Android 6.0 release. And here are some of the things you can expect from Google and get you started with the upcoming Nexus 5 Marshmallow release and release date.
