Motorola Android 8.0 Oreo Update Details

Motorola is still moving forward slowly but surely delivery Update to Android 8.0 Oreo smartphone series. And while most owners are waiting for Android Pie, some are just getting Oreo now. Here we’ll go over everything Moto owners need to know. This is the latest information about updates on Moto Z, Moto Z2 PowerMoto G4, X4, G5 and more.

Google’s Android 8.0 Oreo update came in August 2017, followed by another update to Android 8.1 in December. Motorola has quickly updated most of its devices, but now Android 9 Pie is over 2 months old and some phones don’t even have Oreo. Most importantly older devices or carrier models.

In total, Motorola has approved Android O for its 10 most popular smartphones last year. Additionally, this announcement also clarified which devices will not receive new software. That said, here are all the details we have so far, the latest updates and the latest Moto Oreo news.

Motorola Android 8.0 Oreo Updates

On the Official Motorola Blog, The company has published a list 10 devices that will get Android 8.0 Oreo. These are the phones that will take precedence, but that doesn’t mean others won’t be added at a later date.

There are more than 10 listed, but in total 10 Motorola phone families have Android Oreo in 2018 or will soon. We mainly see Motorola’s latest smartphones and the Moto Z, the flagship of recent years. But that’s it. The entire Moto G4 family didn’t make this list. Also, Moto G4 Play received Android 7.1.1 Nougat in January 2018. Yep, that’s over 13 months late. Unfortunately it will not receive an update for Oreo.

As an added bonus, Motorola runs a fairly stock version of Android. This means that there are no significant changes to be made; this means the update will come sooner.

It’s also worth noting that Google released Android 9 Pie in August, and that’s what Motorola likes to work on right now.
